(1999-07-09) 19990709T0526 Woke up at T0500. Premier train 5h42, eh. Walked to the Vendôme station T0522; the billetier let me in without a ticket. But I still gotta wait for the first train. I better make it on time for the plane. Got to Bonaventure T0549. Ran to the Aérogare Centre-Ville; found out that the bus leaves c. T0610 and arrives at Dorval c. T0630. T0652 Now in the airplane. T0658 Cabin door closed. Thank the LORD; I made it. I checked in around T0635. They told me that I was late for the flight (I remembered that Celtic-looking lady!) but still issued a manual boarding pass. I then had to go through the U.S. Immigration and Customs. The immigration asked my newest passport, my visa, my I-20 and my I-94. He moved my old I-94 which I did not have to surrender neither upon leaving the States nor upon entering Canada. T0704 At the gate, they took away my manual boarding pass and gave me a printed pass, along with that for the Newark/San Diego flight. T0706 aboard Continental 1055, from Montréal to Newark. ticket folder 500 CAD 3 dimes 0.3 CAD 1 nickel 0.05 CAD 4 pennies 0.04 CAD 2 dollars × 2 4 CAD 1 × 20 CAD 20 CAD 2 × 10 CAD 10 CAD --------------------------------- 544.39 CAD 544.39 CAD × 10 USD / 14 CAD approximately = 388.8 USD 388.8 ------ 14 ) 5443.9 42 --- 124 112 --- 123 112 --- 11.9T0742 T0911-0400 Money situation: (Thhmm-0400) 0705T0819 approximately 710.00 CAD 0706T2342 623.16 CAD 0709T0914 544.39 CAD T1225 Eating again at the Yoshinoya in downtown San Diego. What did I bring back from this trip? Arctic tan, a bunch of French words, and a few Canadian coins that I wasn't able to sell to the Mutual Life of Omaha counter at Terminal 1, San Diego Airport? I have this weird feeling of never having left home, but also that of never actually returning home. I am still a sojourner. T1230
